Terms of Participation for the biathlon.fun Prediction Game

1. Organizer

The sole organizer of the biathlon.fun prediction game is Jooß & Schieffer GbR, represented by Matthias Jooß and Ron Schieffer, Am Kreuzberg 40, 53937 Schleiden, Germany, email: info@biathlon.fun.

The organizer is solely responsible for organizing and technically running the prediction game, for these terms of participation, and for scoring and determining the winners.

The prizes are provided by our partner LaVita GmbH. LaVita is not the organizer of the prediction game and is not responsible for its organization, technical operation, terms of participation or the determination of winners. The same applies to other partners who support or promote the prediction game, such as the Extrarunde podcast.

The prediction game is intended for entertainment and shared enjoyment of biathlon.

2. Eligibility

All persons authorized by the organizer to participate are eligible.

Minors may participate in the biathlon.fun prediction game only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By participating, a minor confirms that the required consent has been obtained. The organizer may request appropriate proof in individual cases.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, participation is free of charge.

The organizer reserves the right to exclude participants from the prediction game for violations of these terms of participation.

3. Registration

Only the following details are required to participate in the biathlon.fun prediction game:

  • a freely chosen player name or username
  • a valid email address

Providing a real name is not required.

As a rule, each person may participate with only one prediction account or player name unless the organizer specifies otherwise.

By registering and participating in the biathlon.fun prediction game, these terms of participation are accepted.

4. Submitting Predictions

Predictions must be submitted within the respective submission deadline.

After the deadline has expired, predictions generally cannot be changed or submitted later.

The decisive time is when the prediction is received by the biathlon.fun prediction system.

Participants are responsible for submitting their predictions completely and on time.

5. Scoring

Points are awarded according to the scoring system published for the biathlon.fun prediction game.

Official results of the respective biathlon competitions form the basis for evaluation.

If results are subsequently changed by the responsible sports federation, the organizer decides whether and until when these changes will be included in the prediction game scoring.

In the event of technical errors, incorrect entries, or obvious evaluation errors, the organizer may correct the scoring retrospectively.

6. Overall Ranking and Ties

The winner of the biathlon.fun prediction game is the person with the highest total score after all competitions scheduled for the prediction game have been completed.

If two or more participants achieve the same total score, the number of races in which the respective participant scored 25 points is considered first.

The participant with the higher number of 25-point races receives the better ranking.

If a tie remains, the decision will be made by drawing lots.

7. Leaderboard

Only the player name or username selected during registration is displayed on the leaderboard.

A participant's real name is not required for participation and is not published on the leaderboard.

The email address provided is also not displayed publicly.

8. Prizes

If prizes are offered as part of the biathlon.fun prediction game, they will be announced by the organizer.

Winners are determined solely by the organizer and notified by email. To ship physical prizes, the winner contacts the prize sponsor LaVita GmbH directly by email after the prize notification, providing their full name, player name and delivery address. By replying, the winner agrees that the organizer passes the winner's player name and email address to LaVita for verification and that LaVita uses this information solely to ship the prize. Anyone who does not want this can contact info@biathlon.fun instead.

Cash payment, exchange, or transfer of non-cash prizes is excluded unless the organizer specifies otherwise.

A claim to a specific prize exists only in accordance with the prize rules published by the organizer.

The prize notification states the prize, how to respond and the response deadline. The response deadline is 14 calendar days from the date the prize notification is sent. If a winner cannot be reached at the email address provided during registration or no response is received through one of the stated channels within this period, the prize may be awarded to another participant. Participants are asked to also check their spam or junk folder so that a prize notification is not missed.

9. Fair Play

Attempts at manipulation, unauthorized multiple participation, or other attempts to gain an unfair advantage may lead to exclusion from the prediction game.

In such cases, the organizer may revoke points, rankings, or prizes already awarded.

This applies in particular to technical manipulation attempts or the misuse of multiple participant accounts.

10. Technical Disruptions

The organizer does not guarantee that the biathlon.fun prediction game will be available at all times without interruption or technical errors.

In particular, there is generally no right to subsequent acceptance of a prediction if it was not transmitted in time due to technical problems, internet disruptions, or other circumstances.

In the event of significant technical disruptions, the organizer may establish an appropriate special arrangement that applies equally to all affected participants.

11. Cancellation, Postponement, or Changes to Races

If individual biathlon competitions are cancelled, postponed, abandoned, or substantially changed in how they are held, the organizer decides how the respective race will be treated within the prediction game.

The aim is to ensure scoring that is as fair and consistent as possible for all participants.

12. Changes to or Termination of the Prediction Game

The organizer reserves the right to change, interrupt, or terminate the biathlon.fun prediction game early for an important reason.

This applies in particular where technical, organizational, or legal reasons prevent the proper conduct of the prediction game.

Changes will be announced to participants as early as possible.

13. Data Protection

To participate in the biathlon.fun prediction game, the chosen player name or username and the email address provided are processed.

This data is used in particular for the following purposes:

  • registration and management of the participant account
  • conducting and evaluating the prediction game
  • displaying the leaderboard
  • communicating with participants
  • notifying winners

Only the selected player name or username is displayed on the publicly visible leaderboard.

The email address is not publicly displayed.

Participant data is not passed on to LaVita GmbH or other partners for advertising purposes. Winner data is only transferred to LaVita for prize shipping as described under "8. Prizes".

Further details on the processing of personal data can be found in the organizer's privacy policy.

14. Liability

The organizer is liable within the scope of statutory provisions.

No guarantee can be given for the error-free conduct of the prediction game at all times in the event of incorrect or delayed publication of sports results, technical failures, or other circumstances beyond the organizer's control.

15. Decisions by the Organizer

In cases of doubt regarding the interpretation of the game rules, the award of points, or the scoring, the organizer decides in accordance with these terms of participation and the principle of fair treatment of all participants.

16. Final Provisions

If individual provisions of these terms of participation are or become invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies to the extent legally permissible.
